What is an R.M.T.?

What happens at my Massage therapy visit?

  • It’s best to arrive 10-15 minutes before your first massage appointment to fill out the health history form.
  • Your therapist will then take you into the treatment room to discuss your areas of concern, review your health history form, and discuss your massage preferences.
  • Your RMT will then leave the room so you can undress to your comfort level and get under the sheets. You are fully covered during your massage; only the body part being worked on will be uncovered.
  • Your therapist will check in with you regarding pressure throughout the massage, be sure to let them know if anything is uncomfortable.
  • Your RMT will let you know when the massage is complete and will leave the room to let you get dressed. You can then discuss your treatment plan with the therapist.

What Our Massage Clients Say

(More than 264 5-star Google Reviews)

…The RMT I see for massages at the clinic is Mania and she is amazing! I really shouldn’t let the secret out about how good she is or booking might get harder for me, but I feel like she deserves a shout out. She always seems to have the pressure right, and she’s got such strong hands too. It feels like she actually puts in effort each time unlike some other places where they just lightly knead you.

Dr. Michael, massage therapist Julie and the staff are wonderful. Have been going there for years.

Julie is incredible, she knows exactly where to concentrate her efforts in order to resolve your pain and help with the healing process of your injury. Overall amazing!

I’ve been coming here for over 15 years for Massage Therapy from Mania. I call them Mania’s Magical Hands. She has gotten me through, neck injuries, rotator cuff injuries, two hip replacements and the weight of the world on my shoulders. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Skilled, professional and very personable.

Susan Harrington

I come here for massage therapy with Julie and she is absolutely amazing!! She is by far the best therapist I have ever seen!! She is very gifted in what she does and I also love her upbeat personality. I have chronic muscle pain and my muscles are super tight, but I always feel so good after a session with her. I’ve been to other therapists before and they didn’t even come close to what Julie can do.

Frequent Questions

Massage therapy is commonly used for the immediate relief of pain and helps normalize tissue function, whereas Physiotherapy is geared more towards strengthening and rehabilitating muscle and joint function.

Massage Therapy helps to improve muscle flexibility (which prevents injuries). It also reduces recovery time and relieves pain.

All of our Massage Therapists are fully trained to use several different techniques. Some of the most common methods used are trigger point release, myofascial release, muscle energy technique, cross fibre frictions and soft tissue release.

RMT’s are trained to feel where tension occurs by palpating trigger points and adhesions in the tissue, and applying pressure to release the area of concern.
