Chiropractic Therapy
We get your spine moving without drugs or surgery.
The Chiropractor at Madison Clinic in North York applies hands-on therapy to encourage your body to heal itself and treat the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms.
North York Chiropractic Therapy
Chiropractors diagnose and perform manipulative therapy to treat neuro-musculoskeletal problems (nerves, muscles, bones) caused by areas of the spine that have stopped moving.
We treat joint fixations (know as Spinal Subluxations) by gentle spinal manipulation and mobilization. Spinal subluxations are dysfunctional spinal segments that are fixated (not moving) and arise from the skeletal system’s stressors. The effectiveness of chiropractic therapy is well supported by scientific research.

What Makes A Good Chiropractor?
A good Chiropractor will pay attention to you as a whole person, not only the symptom exhibited.
Dr. Michael Rodney, our clinic’s North York Chiropractor, has been in practice for 20+ years and is masterful at ‘reading’ people. Your body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, mood, etc. – all matter to Dr. Rodney when it comes to helping you relax during the treatments. A relaxed patient will get better results.
Working with us, you’ll get the highest level of care.
When Should I See a Chiropractor?
A Chiropractor’s job is to help you achieve your optimal functional level, improve your athletic performance, or get you out of pain. Pain happens to be the biggest driver because it is immediate, emotional and debilitating.
We’ve treated patients who couldn’t:
- Get up in the morning
- Walk or jog
- Sit or stand
- Play with their kids
- Go to the washroom
- Make love to their spouse
- Engage in a favourite sport
If you experience pain and discomfort, see a chiropractor.

What is the difference between a Chiropractor and a Physiotherapist?
The short answer is that without additional FCampT certification, physiotherapists aren’t trained on High-Velocity Low Amplitude (HVLA) manipulations of the spine. This may allow the Chiropractor to isolate the spinal segments that need to be moved in the complexity of the multilevel spinal column more accurately. Chiropractors are trained to manipulate the spine and limbs.
A physiotherapist is trained to use mobilization techniques and rehabilitative exercises. We have an excellent Physiotherapist on staff that we regularly refer people to when needed. A good Physiotherapist and a good Chiropractor are equally able to rehabilitate an injury or enhance athletic performance.

Why Do Athletes Need A Chiropractor?
Athletes tend to focus on wellness and often:
- think their body is invincible
- don’t think of the long term effects of their injury
- are hyper-focused on the sport and wait too long before asking for help
Did you know horses often get Chiropractic treatments before a big race? That’s because they have a spine too. If their spine isn’t moving correctly, it slows them down, which could cost them the race. By freeing up their joints, they move faster, which can lead to the win. Athletes aren’t that different from racehorses… They also need a spine that is free of restrictions for the win.
Many of our athletic patients partner with us to help them perform at their peak. If you’re an athlete, a Chiropractor may just be your best friend.

I wish I could give more stars on this review. Dr. Rodney is very knowledgable and highly skilled. I had some discomfort on my neck and upper back. Dr. Rodney really took his time to diagnose my problem and after a few treatments the pain and discomfort were gone. If you’re looking to get chiropractic treatment, Dr. Rodney is the one you should see.

I visited the clinic for the first time due to severe neck, shoulder and upper back pain. Dr. Rodney came to my rescue and after just two visits, alleviated most pain and provided much needed relief. Dr. Rodney is incredibly friendly, energetic, professional, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about his patients. So glad to have found myself a Chiropractor for life! For anyone looking for a highly experienced Chiropractor, I recommend Dr. Rodney. Many thanks Doc.

Dr Rodney and his team are the best. They are my first choice for chiropractic and massage therapy. They take the time and care to ensure your medical concerns are addressed and work on a treatment plan that has always helped me go back to feeling well again.

Great experience, just started with Dr. Rodney a month ago, much different than most chiropractors I’ve been to. Takes the time to find problems to solve, not just blanket advice and treatments.. highly recommend!

I initially attended Madison Clinic for a lower back injury because they were able to handle WSIB claims. Dr. Michael Rodney is one of the best chiropractors I have ever encountered. He’s knowledgeable, experienced, and genuinely cares about the patient. I can safely say that my back pain is gone and I plan on having subsequent appointments to keep it that way. In addition, the staff there is friendly, professional, and well prepared with safety measures during this pandemic. Highly recommend!
